Just for the Summer
This is a contemporary romance novel centered around the unexpected and quirky relationship between Emma, a traveling nurse, and Justin, who's gains some reddit fame for being a sort of 'good luck charm' for his exes who find true love immediately after breaking up with him. The story kicks off when Emma, who shares a similar 'curse', contacts Justin after seeing his post on Reddit. Deciding to date each other over the summer with the hope of breaking their respective streaks, they plan for it to be a quick and casual fling: 4 dates, 1 kiss, break up. However, their arrangement grows complicated as they start developing genuine feelings for each other amidst dealing with serious family responsibilities—Justin becomes the guardian of his three siblings and Emma faces issues with her toxic mother.
How do Emma and Justin’s respective “curses” impact their view on relationships and love? How effectively does this novel portray grief? Is Justin the a-hole?? Join us as we discuss these questions and more in this episode of our spoiler-filled podcast.
Great music huh?! The music for the intro and outro are segments from a song titled "Busy City" by TrackTribe, which was accessed through the YouTube audio library.
Coming up next: Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
